~booyah!

the internet has evolved at a rate faster than we could have ever fathomed since the introduction of electronic mail. fascinations have moved from java chats, instant messaging with direct connections, netmeeting, livejournal, and eventually social networking sites such as myspace and facebook. even more recently, people have been able to generate and share random thought instantly in the form of twitter, from any place in the world. one similar aspect of each of these is the ability to share opinions and even inform in a way that is easily accessed and organized, and this technology what we know as blogging. while many sites have varied the ways they've presented a place to write, they each have the basics when stripped; time and date, and a blank space. enter booyah, created by a developer who wished to be as common and anonymous as each person signing up for the service. the features appealed to bloggers on the east coast, creating a network of people with similar experience and provided a method of keeping in touch with old friends, locating roommates, and sharing achievments with family. the creative freedom exploded as members branched out to other activities and even meetups with the people they could relate to miles away, and over time booyah grew to be more than a simple blogging site: it became a community, one that continues to grow and invites new people into the fold every day.

getting started is simple! create a username that you believe speaks to your personality and interests, and sign up for AIM with any variation on your name! upload an icon (or more!) to have your face attached to your blog. this is so the person on the other end can get to know who is on the other end. encourages creativity in all forms, however journals will be deleted and purged after 2 weeks and others will be considered if there is no sign of activity in the form of an intro post or adding friends. it's not required that you come in with an update already, and you can write as little or as much as you want whether it's a thought or a train of thought. we do ask that only users 15 and up register, and maintain a state within the following region: me, nh, vt, ri, ma, ct, ny, pa, de, md, va, nc, sc, ga or fl.
